San Diego - Day 2

Day 2 in San Diego brought more fun! We got up early so we would have plenty of time to go to the beach before the game. It took us a while to find a parking space, but when we did it was one right up front (thank goodness! with 3 kids and a camera...the closer the better!). I strapped Sam into the Baby Bjorn and away we went.

At first, the boys were pretty hesitant to go in the water (there was some concern about crabs and spiders). After seeing me walking around in it, Gabe decided to give it a try. Within minutes he was soaked from all the splashing, running and dancing (I had a great video of Gabe dancing in the water...it was hilarious! But, I managed to delete it. Oh, the love/hate relationship I have with technology!). Will took a little longer to join the fun. It wasn't long before they were both soaking wet and having a great time!

When we were headed back to the car Will said, "Thank you for bringing us here mommy! Thank you for making us SO bery happy today!" My heart melted! What sweet boys we have! Gabe was also thankful for the beach trip. The boys talked about it all the way back to my parents hotel (thank goodness they hadn't checked out yet...we had a lot of sand to clean off and clothes needed to be changed. i think there is still sand in my van!).

Looking for rocks for their rock garden...before they were brave enough to get wet.

Gabe's first attempt at joining me in the water...he and the waves teased each other for a moment before the waves won.

Splishing and splashing.

Gabe going in and Will going away!

Once in, Will decided he had been missing out on A LOT of fun!

Taunting the waves (or maybe scaring away the crabs and spiders).
Following a brief stop at my parents hotel room and a quick lunch, we headed over to San Diego State University to watch Aunt Shay's team play. I'm pretty sure the BYU crowd outnumbered the SDSU crowd...it helps having a few girls from southern California on the team! It was a fun match to watch, BYU played really well and won in 3 fairly quick games (yeah!). Not only did we get to visit with Shay for a little bit, but my friends Deborah and Tanya came to the game. It was fun to catch up with them and enjoy a good volleyball game at the same time!
Gabe looking excited that BYU won!
(Happy 40th Anniversary to mom and dad...I see you guys hanging out in the background!)

Will being...well, Will!
This is a picture Gabe took of Tanya...I thought the effect was pretty cool.

Tanya and Gabe showing their true selves! Gotta love 'em!
Thank you Tanya for letting us invade your place! We sure had fun!
