4 + 1 = 5

Well, in August Mark and I will offically be out numbered. We told the boys on Friday afternoon and Gabe is VERY excited. He's been asking for a baby for a long time. He doesn't give me tight hugs anymore because he doesn't want to "break the baby" and he keeps telling me to eat so the baby will grow big and strong. He's enjoyed telling everyone about the baby and insists that is't a girl. He tells everyone that he is going to have a sister and he's already given her several names (everything from Sophie to Elmo to Lily). I asked him what we should name the baby if it's a boy and he was speechless. He really can't fathom the idea that it might not be a girl. Maybe he knows something we don't - I guess we'll find out if he's right in about 2 months. Will really doesn't have much to say on the matter, however he too has stated he wants a sister (then again, he's also said he wants a brother). The baby is due the 20th of August, but if history holds true the newest addition will arrive somewhere between the 1st and 14th.

The Newest Cousin

Welcome to the family Ellie Brooke Crosbie!

My sister, Amy, had her second daughter on December 27th, 2007. She weighed in at a little over 8 pounds and was 20 inches long. We can't wait to meet her when we go to Utah in March!

Motorcycle Men

For Chrismtas, the boys got bikes. Gabe got a Spiderman scooter and Will got a two-wheeler. They love their bikes and want to ride them all the time. Will hasn't quite gotten the hang of it yet, but he's close and loves to keep trying.

Shortly after Christmas, while we were at my parents house, Will disappeared and was VERY quiet (if Gabe is quiet, I don't worry...if Will is quiet, find him fast!). As I started to look for him, he walked out of Aunt Shay's room with her ski helmet, gloves, and goggles. He needed a little help putting everything on. As soon as all the equipment was in place, he declared "I'm a motorcycle man!"

He headed outside to get on his bike. He was a bit frustrated, because it's a little more difficult to get on a bike with all the gear on...but his determination helped him out (along with shouts of "By myself!").

Gabe waited patiently for his turn with the helmet. He only got to wear it for a few minutes before Will started tackling him, wanting it back. That's when we decided it might be a good idea to put it all away.

Frosty the Snowman

Gabe asked Aunt Shay to bring snow from Utah. She promised to bring him some. At that moment I'm pretty sure his head started filling with visions of Visalia being blanketed in the snow Aunt Shay promised to bring. On the day she arrived, we drove to my parents house to see her and Grandma Bea. As soon as we pulled into the driveway, Gabe was dismayed to see that Nana and Grandpa's property wasn't covered in snow (again, I'm pretty sure he had visions of the horses frolicking in the snow). Aunt Shay did the best she could by filling a jar with snow, but as I'm sure you can predict...it had lost it's snow like qualities by the time it reached Visalia.

A couple of days later, Aunt Shay and Grandpa went skiing and promised to bring back some snow (again the grand visions of snow returned). Gabe was at Nana's house when they returned with SNOWBALLS!

Mark and I came later to pick him up and he was so excited he could hardly stand it! He quickly ushered us to the freezer and told us we had to knock to see if Frosty was home. I followed his directions and knocked on the door, this is what I found...

Here he is telling us all about Frosty (he has a carrot nose, raisin buttons, and Grandpa's roping glove for a hat - I hope Grandpa doesn't need his glove anytime soon!) and how he lives in Nana's freezer. And there is a rule, you have to knock to see if he's home before you open the door.

And here he is right after Frosty was completed...
Thanks Aunt Shay and Grandpa...you made Gabe's Christmas!

Happy New Year

The boys decided to celebrate the New Year by playing outside. They started out with jackets on and quickly decided it was much too warm to wear them (it was the warmest day of the year so far!). They were enjoying themselves so much that they thought it would be best to eat lunch out on the patio. We thought our family in Wisconsin would especially enjoy the sunshiney pictures!
