Due to being constantly on the go for three days...Will and Sam slept almost the entire way from Three Lakes to Oshkosh, and Gabe was too tired to do anything besides stare out the window. So, it was a pretty peaceful drive for Mark and I! What better way to enjoy the Wisconsin countryside than with three quiet kids in the backseat?
We made it Oshkosh in time to do a little more fishing. However, these fish were not nearly as cooperative! Despite all of their efforts, not one fish was caught - but there was the one that got away...
While the big boys were fishing, Sam got to spend a little quality time with Aunt Sue. I think she might have kept him if we had let her...I did hear her trying to convince him that he liked her better than us! Thankfully, we have a loyal little boy who loves us as much as we love him!
The next day, we were back on the road (we should have taken note of how many miles we put on that little car!) headed to Milwaukee.
I think we were all glad to get to Milwaukee...it meant that we could unload the car and not worry about packing it up again until it was time to fly home. It also meant we got to spend some time with Tegh (and his parents!).
Our time in Milwaukee included a birthday party for Sam, Lucy, and Nav. Aunt Sue and her family, Grandma Lucy, and Aunt Christine were all able to join in the festivities. Mark made the ice cream cake and Steve did a fantastic job of grilling. Will apparently thought it was taking me too long to start feeding Sam his cake, so he took care of it for me! When Will stopped to eat his cake, Gabe took over! What sweet brothers!
Uncle Tom, Aunt Julie, Megan and Tyler stopped by on their way back to Ohio. The kids enjoyed having a little more time together.
We finished up our trip by exploring the woods behind Uncle Steve's house and having dinner at Stone Fire Pizza. Stone Fire Pizza is a place Gabe has talked about since the last time we were in Wisconsin. It has a great buffet, you get to eat in front of a large movie screen, and when your done eating you can choose between various different playrooms and arcade games. Sounds like a dreamland for most 3 and 5 year olds, doesn't it? It was all they had hoped it would be!
Our trip had come to and end. We woke up early the next morning to return the rental car and catch our flight. Good little Tegh was kind enough to make sure his parents were awake to see us off!
