Friends...and a Zoo!

We left Shannon's on Friday morning, picked up my mom and headed north again. We dropped my mom off at my sister's house in Salt Lake and went to Hoagle Zoo to meet my friend Kellie and her little boy, Drew. Kellie and I met at a camp when we were 15 and have been great friends ever since. On the way to the zoo, I started wondering if a day outside was really that great of an idea...it was pouring rain! So much so, that I told the boys they couldn't talk because I really needed to concentrate on driving. Visibility was terrible! Thankfully, as we neared the zoo, the rain started to let up. We certainly didn't have a rain free day at the zoo, but it was nice enough for us to have fun!

Even with the intermittent rain, we were able to enjoy our day. The boys had a blast checking out all the animals and being with Drew.

Watching the zebras.

Roaring like a lion (it looks like he's having a meltdown, but he is in fact doing his best lion impersonation).

Drew helped take pictures.

They rode a tiger (now it is Gabe's turn to roar).

Brotherly love... (I LOVE this picture!)

When Will got tired, the gorilla helped him out.

Gabe's goal for the day was to see Penguins - luckily...they have Penguins!!

Then there was the play area...

Will conquered the spider.

Then he helped Gabe with the spiderweb.

Sam had fun too!

Gabe getting up close with the animals.

Making wishes at the end of our zoo adventure.

And you have to get a little dancing in before you leave the zoo!

Thanks Kel and Drew for an awesome day!!

Following the zoo, we picked my mom up and headed north...again! Friday night, we arrived at our northern most destination - Logan. My sister, Amy, and her family live there. Once again, the boys were content to play outside and in the basement. (Gabe and Will both really want a basement now...hmm, that isn't going to happen!)
